Renewable energy project
at The Downswood community centre

Unfortunately the above
project will no longer be able to go ahead at the Downswood community centre,
due to the lack of funding.
Downswood Parish Council
supported this project and offered funding of £7,500.00, but added to funding
from the Low Carbon Building Programme of £14,256.00, this falls well short of
the estimated £30,000.00 required.
I have over the past two
years applied to many organisations and companies for additional funding but
sadly due mainly to the current financial climate, we have been unsuccessful and
therefore it has been decided to abandon this project.
It has also recently come to
light that all the external doors at the centre are desperately in need of
replacement as these are the original doors that were installed in 1990.
Therefore it has been agreed
by the DCA general committee that any future funding we receive, will go
towards replacing the external doors.
